Chairman kyoko Kawakami

On the afternoon of February 3, 2024, the award ceremony for the 21st Annual Honoring Tanka Poetry Competition was held at Sonoda Gakuen Women's University Keyakinakan.

The winners of the 22 "Special Prizes" for children, students, university students, general public, and foreigners, the winners of the "Keityu Prize" for general public and university students, representatives from elementary, junior high, and senior high schools who won the Excellence Award, and the guests who presented the Special Prizes were all present at the event. We were pleased to have the opportunity to meet the award winners in person. It was a pleasure to meet the award winners in person.

The winners of the "Keityu Grand Prize," "Hyogo Prefecture Governor's Prize," and "Amagasaki City Mayor's Prize" recited their own tanka poems at the event. From elementary school students to international students, they recited their tanka poems slowly and loudly, which gave the audience a different taste of tanka poems heard by ear.

We also had a brief interview in front of everyone with the foreign winners who attended this year's event. We were able to learn about the thoughts and feelings of the three winners, who were from Indonesia, Ukraine, and China, in their tanka poems written in Japane
